Part 46 is the MSHA regulation for training and retraining of miners working at surface non-metal / non-coal mines.
These mines may extract and process commodities including:
- Granite, Marble, Limestone, and other types of surface stone
- Sand and Gravel
- Colloidal Phosphate
- Shell Dredging
- Surface Clay and Topsoil
